Meet our Physicians

 

Internal Medicine
Mark Messinese MD

 

Dr. Mark Messinese is a native of Jacksonville Beach and has practiced Internal Medicine at the Beaches since 1994. He is a graduate of the University of Florida, and received his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean in 1986. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and trained at Temple University. He is a former Chairman of Medicine and Chief of Staff at Baptist Medical Center Beaches. Currently, he is also the Medical Director of Fleet Landing Retirement Community.

 

Dr. Messinese's wife, Debbie, serves as the office adminstrator and together they have five children and two grandchildren. He is an avid surfer, kayak fisherman, and golfer. He considers it an honor and privilege to practice in the community that has been his home for most of his life.

 

Primary Care
Cheryl Roche ARNP

 

Cheryl is Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and licensed by the State of Florida to provide Family- centered healthcare. She graduated fron the University of Florida and received her Graduate degree from the University of North Florida.  Cheryl has logged over 18 years of experience working in various units of the hospital including the ICU at Baptist Medical Center Beaches. 

 

Cheryl's extensive combination of clinical experience and academic background enables her to provide the best healthcare possible. "I believe in establishing long-lasting and trusting relationships with my patients. I take time to listen and understand my patients particular needs."

 

Cheryl enjoys spending her free time with her husband and 12 year old twins, attending their sporting events. 

Family Medicine
Jose Raphael Tamayo MD

 

Dr. Tamayo is a Board Certified Family Medicine Doctor who completed his residency training at St. Vincent's here in Jacksonville. He obtained his Medical Degree from the University of the East in Manila, Philippines. 

 

A family man, Dr. Tamayo is married with four daughters. During his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball, watching movies, and spending weekends at the beach.

Doug Fowler PAC

 

Douglas Fowler, PA-C received his Bachelor of Science degree from of Louisiana State University Shreveport and his Masters of Medical Sciences Degree as a Physician Assistant from Nova Southeastern University, Jacksonville.  He is the son of the late Dr. Douglas Fowler, Jr., MD and has been a long time resident of Jacksonville.
 
Doug has also been an ordained minister for 27 years and brings to the practice a unique perspective and experienced, compassionate care to all of his patients.  His current focus of care is with the geriatric residents of the long term care facilities of Fleet Landing Retirement Community, where Dr. Messinese is Medical Director.

Judith  "Judy" Killeen  ARNP

 

Judy Killeen is a graduate of Kent State University and the University of Florida. She is certified in Adult Health and has a background in physical medicine and rehabilation. She likes volunteering at Legacy of Care free clinic.

 

Judy takes a somewhat holistic approach to treating patients and enjoys the geriatric population. She has been a vaulable member of the practice since 2009 and has become a favorite among his patients.
