questions about your bill
What billing or insurance information will I receive?
You will only recieve a bill if your claim is denied, you are uninsured, or after your insurance has paid, and a balance remains on your account.
How long will it take to get things settled with the insurance company?
Generally, it takes from 45 to 60 days to obtain payment from an insurance carrier.
Why am I getting bills from your physicians when I was in the hospital?
Each physician who provides a professional service during your hospitalization will send you a bill from his or her office. These professionals will include:
- your attending physician
- hospitals
- laboratories
- other physicians who conducted tests and procedures
- consulting physicians : specialists in anesthesiology, cardiology, emergency medicine, nuclear medicine, pathology, or radiology. If you have recieved a bill from another provider please contact their office to resolve it.
I received a notice that my insurance company has paid on my bill -- but I can't understand how they calculated their payment amount. Do you know?
If you have questions on how a bill was calculated we'll be glad to share any information we have with you. However, for answers to questions about payments, deductibles, or co-payments, contact your insurance company.
